Social distancing measures have required everyone around the world to stay at home. Gyms, wellness studios, and swimming pools, are all closed and in-person training sessions have come to a complete halt. With this new normal, it’s become hard for all of us to stay active and motivated. However, staying active is important for both our physical and mental well-being. In this guide, we lay out a few easy tips & tricks to staying active while at home so you can still feel your best!
BODYWEIGHT CARDIO BURST
The best at-home workouts don’t require a ton of equipment, or any equipment at all, other than your bodyweight. If you don’t have a lot of equipment, then at-home bodyweight workouts are a perfect alternative while local gyms and studios are closed due to stay at home orders. Bodyweight exercises work nearly all of your muscles, from your quads, gluts, chest and core! They aren’t just great for building strength but bodyweight exercises can double as part of your cardio routine as well. It’s a win win if you ask us!
While there are a ton of both paid and free workouts on the web – we want to shake up your routine and recommend our favorite New York based Nike’s Master trainer Akin Akman. Akin goes live on Instagram every single morning and leads a free Nike Training Club community workout class on YouTube every Saturday. All you need is your computer, a mat, and a good attitude.

Sometimes 20 minutes is all you have to get a little exercise in, we totally get it. If you’re crunched on time but still want to break a sweat, then we recommend Master trainer Deanna Dorman’s 20-minute Pilates flow. Her flow builds strength in your muscles with exercises like single-leg hip bridges and lots of stretching.
